BRIEF

YOUR  CHALLENGE​

PART ONE:

You are challenged to create a 13 sample sewing stitch book that utilises a minimum of 5 different qualities of woven wool cloth, demonstrating your ability to produce the following:

 

Handstitching: (4 samples)

  • Felling stitch

  • Pad stitch

  • Slip stitch

  • Pick stitch

Pockets: (6 samples)

  • Traditional Jetted pocket in a plain cloth

  • Jetted pocket with flap in a check cloth

  • Welt pocket in a pin stripe

  • Patch pocket – in a window pane

  • X2 pockets of your choice (be creative)

 

Other: (3 samples)

  • x3 Samples of your choice relating to a mens tailored jacket.

(For example...

  • Internal facing and pocket

  • Top collar

  • Undercollar

  • Cuff or gauntlet

  • Button hole,

  • Edge stitching

  • Pocket flap

  • Lapel

  • Epaulette

  • Lining print (This option will need to be sewn to a facing, max 1)

Carefully consider how you will present your 13 samples to make your work stand out above the rest. We are looking for quality, creativity  and originality in your submission.
